About me
Hi, I’m Cindy Pang—a PhD candidate in Biostatistics at UCLA. My research focuses on applying statistical and machine learning methods to high-dimensional biomedical data, with current projects exploring DNA methylation biomarkers for ovarian cancer relapse prediction. I’m passionate about making statistical tools accessible and interpretable, particularly in the context of survival analysis, epigenetics, and spatial health data.
I’ve served as a Teaching Assistant for a range of undergraduate and graduate biostatistics courses, and I’m committed to inclusive and flexible teaching practices. Outside of research and teaching, I mentor students through research collaborations and leadership roles in the Biostatistics Student Association. I’m especially interested in interdisciplinary work that bridges statistics with public health, environmental health, and medical geography.
Long-term, I hope to pursue a career in academia that integrates research, teaching, and mentorship—and helps make data-driven public health more equitable and transparent.
